John Griffiths - Principal

A chartered Chemical Engineer and Environmentalist with more than 40 years experience in oil and gas (on and offshore), healthcare management, marine renewable energy and energy from waste, John is a General Manager, a Project Engineering Manager and Project Manager.
John has particular skills in the feasibility and conceptual stages of engineering projects in both chemical engineering and in the development of offshore projects. He has worked at senior levels for British Gas, Bechtel and for AMEC at Board level in the London company.

Associates
Tim Aikens is an independent management consultant based in London. Tim specialises in business transformation and organisation related work, helping clients to create sustainable change and organisation structures that support their vision and help generate competitive advantage. Whilst his work has primarily been in the energy sector, Tim has worked across a broad spectrum of industries including, telecommunications, public sector, defence, shipbuilding, and engineering to name but a few. His work in organisation has covered the full range from visioning, organisation structure, values and behaviours to culture development and manpower planning. He has also worked in the human resources sector including management development, training, competency and counselling. For the last twenty years he has worked with most of the major oil companies worldwide.

A qualified civil engineer who has spent most of his career as Managing Director of Operations with full P & L responsibility for the creation and success of manufacturing and engineering operations in the oil and gas, and latterly nuclear, industries. He has considerable experience of managing complex international organisations, strategic planning, business development and project management. His personal skills include an in-depth knowledge of combustion processes and burner design and operational management.
For 15 years until 2009 he was employed by AMEC Plc, and as Operations Director/Senior Vice President of AMEC Nuclear Limited was responsible for the global operations for the Geomelt Vitrification Technology used for stabilisation/destruction of nuclear, hazardous and mixed toxic waste

A Quality Assurance Professional of many years standing, Paul has developed quality management systems for a range of companies around the world in healthcare, ocean energy and specialist manufacturing.
Ian holds degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford, he has extensive experience in the management of finance and administrative functions of both large and small companies.
His skill base includes accountancy and extensive legal knowledge especially of Company Law. He worked for Vickers Plc for many years, in Financial Evaluation and Financial management, subsequently as Finance Director of the Roneo Vickers Group. In more recent years Ian has carried out acquisitions and taken a number of companies to stock exchanges in N. America in industries including credit card manufacture, wallboard and related products and tyre pyrolysis. He has been FD of a number of companies in recent years.

Ed has worked in the offshore design community since 1980. He has covered areas such as sound & vibration, reliability modelling, probabilistic safety assessment and gradually all the other aspects of safety and hazard management.
He established Sauf Consulting Limited in 1999 and has continued working as an independent safety consultant; he has been involved with many studies and projects for the offshore industry including some key guidance initiatives and technology reviews for policy makers.
Ed’s main current activities involve chairing and reporting on HAZOPs, HAZIDs, ENVIDS and SIL reviews, constructability reviews and Cause & Effect verification reviews. Additionally he has run hazard awareness and training sessions and provided training on structured brainstorming reviews.
He is a guest lecturer on the Offshore M.Sc. at Cranfield University on the risk and reliability module and has given many papers on aspects of design safety.
Michael Wilkins is a Chartered Civil Engineer with more than forty years experience in the civil, marine, fisheries, petrochemical and renewable energy industries. As a director of Celtic Marine Limited & independent consultant he is currently advising EMEC & RWE/Soltech. Celtic Marine’s background studies are on kelp harvesting & marine bio-fuel feedstocks.
Following his early career with Hydrotechnic Corporation, Marples Ridgeway, George Wimpey, Constructors John Brown and Ballast Nedam, he set up Channel Marine Limited in 1980. Channel Marine was a Contractor, specialising in technical and operational solutions & services for cable laying, marine trials, site investigation, fisheries studies and the development of marine harvesting & sub-sea cable burial systems. Based in London and Orkney, he has worked in the UK, USA, Netherlands, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Estonia with short term assignments in Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon and eight Caribbean countries.
